Belgian Amsterdammers

An Amsterdammer is a small tug built for the small canals in Amsterdam. It had a limited height so it would fit under the bridges.

It was small built and often handled by one person. Therefore, the beting was placed near the wheelhouse. The skipper could undo the ropes from the wheelhouse.

The accommodation and engine room were mostly in the front of the wheelhouse.
